Find answers to common questions about using Heartitly.
Getting Started
How do I record a blood pressure reading?
Open the app and tap the + button on the home screen. Enter your systolic and diastolic values along with your pulse. Optionally, add context like which arm you used, your body position, and any notes. Tap Save to record your reading.
How do I create an account?
You can sign up with your email and password, or sign in instantly with your Google or Apple account. Once signed in, your readings are synced to the cloud and you can access features like family sharing and data backup.
Managing Readings
How do I edit a reading?
Tap any reading in your History tab to open the edit modal. You can update the systolic and diastolic values, pulse, measurement context, and notes. You'll see a real-time category preview as you adjust the values. Changes save immediately.
How do I delete a reading?
Tap the reading you want to remove, then tap the Delete option. Confirm the deletion in the dialog. This action cannot be undone.
How do I switch between list and calendar view?
In the History tab, you'll see a List/Calendar toggle at the top of the screen. Tap Calendar to see your readings organized by date on a calendar, or tap List to see them in chronological order.
How do I filter my readings?
In the History tab, tap the Filter button. You can filter by date range (Today, Past Week, Past Month, All Time) or set a custom date range. You can also filter by BP category (Normal, Elevated, High). Combine filters to find exactly the readings you're looking for.
Family Sharing
How do I share my readings with family?
Go to Profile → Family Sharing → Generate Invite Code. You'll receive a 6-character code that's valid for 7 days. Share this code with your family member. They can enter it in their app under "Join Family" to start viewing your readings.
Can family members edit my readings?
No. Family sharing is strictly read-only. Family members can view your readings and trends, but only you can edit or delete your own data.
How do I stop sharing with someone?
Go to Profile → Family Sharing. You'll see a list of people you're sharing with. Tap the remove button next to the person you want to stop sharing with. They'll lose access immediately.
Health App Integration
How do I connect Apple Health or Google Health Connect?
Go to Profile → Settings → Apple Health (on iOS) or Health Connect (on Android). Grant the requested permissions when prompted. Once connected, your blood pressure readings will sync automatically between Heartitly and your device's health ecosystem.
What data syncs with Apple Health?
Blood pressure readings (systolic and diastolic values) and pulse. We only read and write blood pressure data — no other health metrics are accessed.
Data & Privacy
How do I export my data?
Go to the History tab and tap Export PDF. The generated report includes all your readings, averages, trends, and contextual information — perfect for sharing with your doctor.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Delete Account. This will permanently delete your account and all associated data from our servers. This action cannot be undone.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Data at rest is encrypted by our infrastructure provider. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Troubleshooting
The app is slow or not loading
Try closing and reopening the app completely. Ensure you have a stable internet connection. If the issue persists, try logging out and back in from the Profile tab.
My readings didn't sync
Check your internet connection. In the History tab, pull down to refresh. If you're using Apple Health or Health Connect, verify that permissions are still granted in your device's Settings app.
I forgot my password
On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password." Enter your email address and we'll send you a password reset link. Check your spam folder if you don't see the email within a few minutes.
